This week, Parlons Canna is meeting a renowned lawyer in the CBD community, one of the experts from NORML France, and a fervent defender of the sector within the UPCBD, Maître Xavier PIZARRO.
Lawyer since 2019, Xavier PIZARRO notably accompanied Sébastien Béguerie in the last rounds of the Kanavape case and led this interminable trial to a release and a fine of 250€.
In this episode, he recounts precisely this emblematic file which at the time made the front page of all the cannabis press. A case that ended well and that, somewhere, opened the doors to the industry.
For Me Pizarro, the impasse is however total as regards the regulation of the various uses of hemp in France. It also answers some of the most frequently asked questions: THC, HHC, self-production, health claims and many more.
As for the future, he is rather optimistic. For Me Pizarro, the light cannabis market, as he calls it, has become mature, and the market could evolve towards legalization. It is impossible to stop a changing society or views. The police, he claims, did not sign to chase after a youth’s bag.
Like many players in this environment, he stresses the importance of sticking together. Things will change despite the way France currently treats cannabis.
